The archive project (présence d'absence in the context of the exhibition 'Akademien(working title) conceived by Mischa Kuball seals the building of the Kunsthalle and the Kunstverein and makes it impenetrable. The 50 years of exhibition practice, history and biographical-artistic inscriptions on and in the building are thus sealed off: Gerhard Richter's mirror, Joseph Beuys' hole to the stovepipe, the red line as a trace of James Lee Byars' performance - everything seems sealed in the archive and inaccessible. The intervention planned for the front of the building could only be realised conceptually, as a simulation and idea for the location on Grabbeplatz. A stack of 500 DIN-A-zero posters will be realised, transferring the idea from the Kunsthalle to the public and private space.

Mischa Kuball transfers the idea of the re-enactment and/or realisation of the idea of the archive (présence d'absence) to the collection of the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf.
