With the two villas Haus Lange and Haus Esters as well as with the building complex of the Business Park, Krefeld is greatly defined by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Over 80 years ago, during a competition, the architect also designed a clubhouse for the newly founded golf club in Krefeld. Due to the global economic crisis it was however never built. Following the original plans, the Belgian architecture firm of Robbrecht en Daem finally realized the design as an accessible architectural model in a 1:1 scale in 2013. With a varied program of symposia, lectures, screenings, workshops, walks, tours, performances, etc. the exhibition space will be a lively cultural attraction for different audiences. After the teachings and spirit of the Bauhaus, the basic geometric forms, which stand for the different colors and characters according to Johannes Itten, now wander over the walls of the architectural model as white light projections during the day as well as in the night.
